INTRODUCTION
Many hours of work have gone into the development of NJSTAR, and I
regularly incorporate suggested changes into the product as I am able to.
The only way I can continue to provide products like NJSTAR and to offer
outstanding technical support, is for you to register your copy of NJSTAR.
I like the shareware concept, and I would like to stay a part of it. But I
can do so only through registrations of NJSTAR. Please don't take this the
wrong way - try out NJSTAR for 30 days or so, under no obligation
whatsoever. But if you found it is useful and continue to use it after that
30-day period, please send your bank check of US$69 (plus $10 S/H) for your
registration copy to:

A file USERDIC.GB is distributed with 2700+ English words and
Chinese translations. User may modify this file, including add
new characters and words with arbitrary codes. Then, user may
recompile the dictionary by using CIZUDIC.EXE.
CIZUDIC.EXE, a utility program to compile USERDIC.GB to
NJCIZUN.DIC. The syntax is: CIZUDIC.EXE USERDIC.GB NJCIZUN.DIC.
HP Deskjet (Plus / 500) Driver.
Now <GetCode> works on <GBinput>, <QWinput>, and <PYinput>. In
<PYinput> input, <Getcode> may tell user possibly more than one
PinYin+Tone of the Chinese character at cursor.
Now in <PYinput>, Keypad number keys can be used to select the
character before typing in a tone.
23/02/92
ADD: Now TAB can be entered at Search prompt, and can be searched.
10/03/92 Ver 2.04 (Not for release)
ADD: In FileList window, a filename may be searched by pressing the
first character of it. Press '\' for directory, pressing '[' for
drive search.
For English Version, the Menu items in the pull-down menu may be
selected by pressing the Hot key.
28/03/92 Ver 2.05 (Not for release)
ADD: <ZYinput>[#F7] command for ZhuYin input as used in Taiwan. There
are three key maps styles may be selected: NJStar's, Eten's and
KuoChiao's:
╔∙─╕:
ZhuYin: ¿┼¿╞¿╟¿╚¿╔¿╩¿╦¿╠¿═¿╬¿╧¿╨¿╤¿╥¿╙ ¿╘ ¿╒ ¿╓¿╫¿╪¿┘
Eten b p m f d t n l v k h g 7 c , . / j ; ' s
KuoChiao 1 q a z 2 w s x e d c r f v 5 t g b y h n
NJStar b p m f d t n l g k h j q x , . / r z c s
Pinyin: B P M F D T N L G K H J Q X ZH CH SH R Z C S
╘╧─╕:
Zhuyin: ¿┌¿█¿▄¿▌ ¿τ¿Φ¿Θ ¿▐ ¿▀ ¿α ¿ß ¿Γ ¿π ¿Σ ¿σ ¿µ
Eten a o r w e x u i q z y 8 9 0 - =
KuoChiao 8 i k , u j m 9 o l . 0 p ; / -
NJStar a o e w i u y [ ] 6 7 8 9 0 - =
Pinyin: A O E E^ I U U: Ai Ei Ao Ou An En Ang Eng Er
╥⌠╡≈:
Zhuyin: - / íª \ íñ
Eten [sp] 2 3 4 5 [sp] == space bar
KuoChiao [sp] 6 3 4 7
NJStar 1 2 3 4 5
Pinyin: 1 2 3 4 5
For ZhuYin input, '<' and '>' are used for flipping the selection
list for all three keymays. For Eten and KuoChiao styles, if the
list have more then 10 selections , [Spacebar] is used to flip to
next 10 characters. Otherwise, [Spacebar] is used for selecting
first character on the list. In NJStar style, [Spacebar] is used
to select first character on the list.
For all three styles, before the tone is entered or NJSTAR is in
LianXiang mode, the Keypad number or [ALT]+number can be used to
select a character. After the tone is entered, the number on the
main keyboard is also used to select.
WARNING: CCLIB.* & CCLIBF.* has been extended, please make sure you specify
blank section as 5 in program like CCFONT, PRINTPS.
29/03/92
ADD: Word (Cizu) input in ZhuYin mode. One thing different from word
input in PinYin mode is: the first ZhuYin code can not go with a
tone sign. Because after a ZhuYin with a tone, and user type a
number (0-9), NJStar could not tell whether the number is for
character selection or for the next Zhuyin code.
Example:
_________________________________________________
╫ó╥⌠: ¿╦¿Γ¿╨¿τ 1 ─╧╝½ 2 ─╧╝½╨╟ 3 ─╧╝½╓▐
If 2nd Zhuyin code does not have a ShengMu, a single quote ' is
needed to seperate the code.
Example:
_________________________________________________
╫ó╥⌠: ¿╥¿τ'¿Γ 1 ╬≈░▓ 2 ╬≈░▓╩╨
[Spacebar] may be used for selecting the first word if there is
no '>' displayed. Use Keypad number or [Alt]+number to select
other words in the list.
ADD: <AddPinYin> and <DelPinYin> for adding and deleting the current
character in PinYin dictionary. If the current character is not
a GB character, user would be prompted to enter the GB code of
the character to be added/deleted. Then, NJStar will ask for a
complete Pinyin code (with tone) if needed. If operation is not
Ok, a sound beep is given.
<AddLX> and <DelLX> may be used to substitute <AddPinYin> and
<DelPinYin> if there is nothing marked in the current file.
CHANGE: <GetCode> now works under <ZYinput> mode, displaying the ZhuYin
code for the current Chinese character. Note some character may
have two or more ZhuYin codes.
07/04/94
ADD: \FanTi or \╖▒╠σ and \JianTi or \╝≥╠σ printing format commands.
With these two commands, both traditional and simplified
characters may be printed on the same sheet in one pass.
Alternatively, when only one character needed to be switched,
the ~ character may be used as a Font switch code for this
single character.
Example: ╖╜~╧≥
This will force ╧≥ to be printed in JianTi when the whole text
is to printed in FanTi or vice versa.
This new feature may also be used to solve the problem of
missing character in FanTi font file, if the missing characters
is found in the JianTi Font file, such as ╔≥ as a surname.
NOTE: Above commands are only in effect if printed with 24 dot
font files and both CCLIB.24 & CCLIBF.24 are present.
12/04/92
ADD: Now Extended Ascii characters (128-160) may be printed on 24 Pin
printers, HP LaserJet, and HP DeskJet printers.
Special GB German characters may be printed on all printers.
Type 'vo1' in PinYin mode to select. (vo1: ª║ª╗ª╝ª╜ª╛)
Under PinYin mode, 'V' may be used entered more symbles:
PinYin: ve3 ¿í¿ó¿ú¿ñ¿Ñ¿ª¿º¿¿¿⌐¿¬¿½¿¼¿¡¿«¿»¿░¿▒¿▓¿│¿┤¿╡¿╢¿╖¿╕¿╣¿║
Symbol: vo2 ªíªóªúªñªÑªªªºª¿ª⌐ª¬ª½ª¼ª¡ª«ª»ª░ª▒ª▓ª│ª┤ª╡ª╢ª╖ª╕

╞½┼╘: vu2 ╪╬╪╓╪τ╪Θ┘Φ┘∩┘√┌ó┌Ñ┌α┌Γ█╚█╔▄│▐├▐╨ßΩßδΓ║Γ╗Γαπ▄π▀σ▓...
CHANGE: <GetCode> command will display the decimal, hex, and oct codes at
the bottom line, when the current character is an ASCII (0-127)
or extended ASCII (128-160).
17/04/92
ADD: <Keyboard> [#F9] command is added for selecting user's keyboard
(English/French/German). The default keyboard is configurable
through NJCONFIG's general option, too.

ADD: Auto Detection for the presence of Enhenced keyboard.
JianYi input for simplified CangJie coding.
CHANGE: After installation, a file NJSTAR.INI is generated. It contains
two lines,
NJZK=C:\NJSTAR
NJDIC=C:\NJSTAR\DIC
Which tells NJStar where to locate the font files and NJ*.DIC
files. However, if NJZK and NJDIC is defined through environment
variables, they would overrides the definitions in this file.
30/04/92
1. Color configuration now takes almost any combinations.
2. If NJSTAR can not find enough RAM to load CCLIB, CCLIB will stay on disk.
User can force NJSTAR to keep CCLIB on disk through NJCONFIG option 'G'
It saves 128K Ram, and is used for those who has RAM less then 470K.
As a trade off, NJSTAR displays slower if CCLIB is read from disk.
NJSTAR will work without LianXiang in 270K Free RAM.
3. Add a indicator on seperation line to indicate the position of
of current screen in the whole file.
4. When use <EditFile>+F1 window to select file, Njstar will remember
the directory and position of last selection.
